It's not an RJ-11, rather I believe the term is RJ-4.
Same jack used to connect a phone handset into a phone
receiver.

I had buddy make a cable for me by cutting one end off
a phone receiver cord (leaving on RJ-4 intact) and
crimping on an RJ-45 on the other end. The RJ-45 then
clicked into a RJ-45 to Serial Port adapter I picked
up at Radio Shack. Worked like a charm.
