Very odd... I'm not seeing the 20040105 package listed on Axel's web 
site, so it certainly looks like some bad mumbo-jumbo going one...

So at this point, you have bttv-kmdl and video4linux-kmdl installed. So 
far, so good...

Try:

# apt-get install bttv#0.9.12-32.rhfc1.at

That should select the specific version you want to install, rather 
than the newest version in the repo.

Is the other one (the one you really want) listed at all?

You should already have the necessary bttv-kmdl installed, so no need 
to do that. If you can't get it with Synaptic, try downloading and 
installing the bttv 0.9.12-32.rhfc1.at rpm.

Not that I know of. There's an rpm database where all your installed 
package info resides, so you'd have to do some editing in there (very 
strongly NOT advised ;-).
