Pretty much.  Though you can speed it up by choosing not to use the
denoise filter.

Anyway, that's why I finally got around to adding the command line svcd
export interface.  You can queue up a bunch of commands and just run the
encoder overnight and/or on weekends to catch up.  I know it's made my
life a lot easier (though I have mostly fast machines to play with here)
