Hello,
please upgrade your kernels to the latest available version. kernels
before 2.4.20-28.XXX (for RH9,8.0,7.3) or 2.4.22-1.2138.XXX (for FC1)
have the do_mremap security bug. FC1 has released yet another kernel
fixing kernel information leaks into userspace in kernel 2.4.23
(http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CAN-2003-0984)
http://atrpms.physik.fu-berlin.de/name/kernel/
Supporting kmdl rpms have been rebuilt and need to be upgraded as
well:
1) Testing which kmdl you have installed:
rpm -qa '*-kmdl-*'
2) Installing new kmdls:
MYKERNEL=2.4.22-1.2140.nptl_30.rhfc1.at
apt-get install {ivtv,nvidia-graphics,lm_sensors,...}-kmdl-$MYKERNEL
(the above example is for and up kernel on FC1, replace MYKERNEL
appropriately)
