Yes, all the stability problems I ever had were related to output. The
card works just the same as my 250 when not using its output.

Not quite correct. The 350 uses the Conexant CX23415 chip, which does
both encoding and decoding. The rev1 PVR-250 has the same chip, but you
can't do anything productive with the decoder portion. The rev2 PVR-250
uses a CX23416 chip, which strips out the decode function altogether.
