Since Myth displays at your desktop resolution, this is easy.
Set your desktop resolution/modelines so that they are compatible with your
HDTV, and then fire up Myth. I suggest Jarod's MythHD HOWTO, which (I believe)
is linked to from his Myth/Fedora HOWTO at http://www.wilsonet.com/mythtv/
