Yes, that was it. I've been watching that thread today, just didn't
have a chance to reply to it. In my case, I had to add '-ao oss' before
mplayer would give me sound. So, apparently I am using ALSA's OSS
emulation. This is fine for now, as I'm just using 2-channel sound via
my amp (via digital coax).
Soon I'll have a 5.1 speaker system set up, and I'd like to use spdif
via alsa. I'm not sure how to do that with my M-Audio card. Does
anyone have experience with that? I'm guessing I need to do some heavy
editing to ~mythtv/.asoundrc, which right now contains just the following:
pcm.ice1712 {
type hw
card 0
}
ctl.ice1712 {
type hw
card 0
}
Thanks!
