[mythtv-users] [mythtv] why Mythosd does not work in menus

I would really love mythosd to work in the main menus of the frontend. 
So far I have only seen it work while watching live or recorded shows. 
Does anyone that help program myth know why and if there is a workaround 
to getting it to work in the menus of the frontend?
