[mythtv-users] Cable box serial control

This is weird, I was just trying this today. I bought an old Motorola DCP501
receiver which includes a DCT2000 cable terminal. I had an old serial cable
lying around so I plugged it in and -boom- worked first time. It's not hooked
up to cable yet but the channel does change. I don't even have any options to
see what firmware is installed.

Now, when I get this activated by the cable company, is it possible that they
could disable that feature?
