[mythtv-users] tvout scrambled on radeon 8500

Mine was rolling/black and white when I didn't have the jumper on my radeon
9200se set to NTSC (it came PAL, blech). Aside from that, from how you
describe the config it seems like it should be working fine. One thing to
check is do everything like you described here, and when it asks about the
configuration of your clone mode, use option 11 which should be primary->TV
secondary->autodetect so it puts xv overlay on your tv.

Good luck

Subject: [mythtv-users] tvout scrambled on radeon 8500

I just got rid of my Scan Converter (OK--it broke), and now am trying to get
the TV Out on my Radeon 8500 working. ATI makes a linux drive that supports
multiple outputs. I ran the config and enabled TV Out, configured the
output to clone, and configured the synch resolution... The VGA works, but
the TV out is scrambled. I must be missing something.

When the system boots, the post logo and text mode stuff is visible, but
rolls. From reading ATI's site, this seems like it might be normal. After
that, when the system boots to X, the TV out is scrambled (mostly
black/white, looks like it may be rolling, but no recognizable gui pieces).

I set my resolution to 640x480, after first trying 800x600. Are there other
things I should try "downgrading" ?

My XF86Config-4 is attached.

Thanks for any help on this one,

Dane
