I have a DCT-2000 (but no working MythTV box, fscking 
Corsair RAM!) and tried to check the firmware version as 
described somewhere on this list.  I don't have the right 
menu options to check (?!!), but I know this model/version 
has the ability to set timers for changing channels, turning 
on, etc...  If you can't get you IR transmitter to work you 
might look into this option.
