Jarod Wilson (thanks *again* Jarod) has a specific HOWTO page for this
topic. One of his ModeLines worked perfectly for my Hitachi 51S500 (the
one that runs 888x508in540p). The secret is the 540p which
'technically' isn't a mode that HDTV recognizes, but the display sees
540 and assumes it's getting an interlaced signal, so happily outputs it
as 1080i.
