You were good up to the final apt-get install ivtv.. Sans that, a depmod
-a should refresh your modules list and ivtv should be there.

What does uname -r output on your machine?
The output of uname -r must match the version of .25 you download, ie
nptl vs. nptl_37 kernels etc. If you downloaded from the link I posted,
make sure you install the atrpms 2.4.22 nptl_37 kernel.

Make sure the kernel version and ivtv .25 rev match versions. If you
have any doubt post the output each of the following in a reply and I'll
square you away.

$> uname -r
$> rpm -qa | grep ivtv
--
