[mythtv-users] LIRC config files...

So the general consensus is that irxevent should be used and not native support for each of the applications? I'm currently using irxevent - which leads me to another question: How do you use irxevent to switch the currently focussed window? I've been trying to send an alt-tab to the RootWindow, but this doesn't work with metacity. Anybody got any good ideas?

I have support in mplayer, but when that exits it doesn't return focus to the mythfrontend properly... I'm wondering if it's the window manager...

I'd like to get native support going as it could then mean I could use the Mythtv independently of the keyboard / mouse. Has anybody got this working?

Cheers,

Emlyn

i assume that you are using irxevent with mythtv (not myths native
lirc support). if this is the case, create an ~/.mplayer/input.conf
file that corresponds to what irxevent is sending to the
"CurrentWindow". an example can be found in mplayers cvs at
http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/~checkout~/main/etc/input.conf?rev=1.10&content-type=text/plain

i just found this this morning after working out my focus issue. =)
