Yes, same here, with an Epia ME6000. It got annoying enough for me to
switch to a pvr-350. The problem seems to be in the binary code, so I
guess there won't be a fix around the corner.

The problem definitely isn't in your debian setup. I switche dfrom
debian to redhat for the h/w support and am quite disapointed.

Your success is worth something for me though. The Redhat kernel has
some problems with the ivtv decoder as well, so I will switch to a
vanilla 2.4.22 soon. If I'm able to use the h/w support of the cle266
with xine that woul be a plus for me, since the fb (pvr350) is way too
slow to work with xine or mplayer until there is support for the pvr
decoder in xine.

Tv-out quality is at least an order of magnitude better on the pvr!
