Okay, so you did get the two displays to differ. The monitor
resolutions are controlled by the "MetaModes" section. The first of the
two fields within the pairs between the semi-colons is for display 1
(usually your monitor) and the second for display 2 (tv). You can set a
MetaMode of 1600x1200, 1024x768, assuming your monitor section lists
1600x1200 as resolution to use. There's a pretty good amount on it in
nVidia's docs in the TwinView section.

Ack. I can't recall off-hand. I don't even actually use that setup
anymore since moving to a VGA->Component Video adapter... TwinView is
completely disabled on my system. Perhaps someone else on the list can
lend a hand...
