[mythtv-users] Building a system from scratch

I'm running a Shuttle SK41G with an Nvidia 440MX agp card and an athlon
1800+ and am very happy with it. Complete specs are:

512mb memory
40 gig boot drive
external 120 gig firewire drive for storage
Hauppauge WinTV-dbx capture card (using the provided remote)
NEC DVD-+r/rw for backup

The whole thing cost probably $650 (you could obviously save quite a bit
by only having 1 internal drive and no dvd burner).

If you're comfortable with linux, I'd suggest Gentoo above all others.
Otherwise, I'm not really sure since I haven't used anything but gentoo
and debian in quite a while.
