Now that I have disabled the APIC, my box is really rock solid (it is  
an AOPEN). Even the sound is working great (speakers are logitech z- 
640) with MythTV and also mplayer and XMMS (5.1 is really great with  
mplayer). I cannot tell really about performance comparison by myself  
(I had a Duron before ;-) but my box looks really performant. Actually  
with a XP2000+ I can watch LiveTV at high quality (as I have a WinTV  
401 CPU is then ~85% which is high but still OK if you're not compiling  
the kernel at the same time ;-), but you can do really better with TV  
cards with Hardware encoding.
At least for me it works really as expected, and it was really cheaper  
than the intel solution.
