Hi Jeff,

Either you or what you were reading was confused. Hardware MPEG-2
encoding (recording) is done by all 3 of the following cards

The Freestyle (AKA PVR PCI II) (AKA PVR-MCE)
The PVR-250
The PVR-350

Only the PVR-350 has a supported hardware MPEG-2 decoder (player) with
TV-out that is also supported in Myth and IVTV.

Freestyles have an onboard hardware decoder without TV-out that is
currently not supported in Myth or IVTV.

PVR-250 revision 1 cards have this also but it sounds like it might
not be easily accessable to use.  Revision 2 cards do not have the
decoder at all.
