Since you are not on a budget, you can spend it and get a nice
transceiver that will handle receiving and transmission of IR
signals (hence "transceiver" :-). You can purchase a prebuilt
one or save a few $$ and get the kit. Comes with software
(and source code) that is easy to install and use.
