Hey Jeremy!!
While this idea is intuitively appealing, I doubt very much if you will
have a lot of success with it.. For example, if you want to be able to use
the ff/rewind features, that means your signal will experience ~ 5 second
lag from the time you hit a button on your remote to when myth shows it..
Furthermore, that signal is *recorded*, which just plain sucks..
My setup here has been to hook up the receiver to my serial port and
control everything on the receiver through myth.. This was an easier
decision for me that it seems like it will be for you, since my built-in
EPG sucks.. However, as the myth EPG and interface continues to improve, I
think you'll find it an excellent replacement to your current setup..
