[mythtv-users] better tv-out cards

These testimonials are great news. Would you be willing to write up the
details of *how* you got the ATI and Savage 2000 cards working with TV out
and X?
I expect the ATI procedure is a bit involved, but that the Savage procedure
just involves either getting XF86Config-4 right in some detailed way or
doing something with the X-related parts of the kernel. That's all just a
guess, though, perhaps not a very good one since I've never made either
card work.
I have both an ATI 7500 and a Savage 2000 available to me, so I can test
any writeup (and I am willing to spend the time to test and edit
documentation here, since I think the lack of good information here is a
serious gap for those of us who want to do home video ... the info I've
found on the G450/550 is strikingly unusual in its completeness and accuracy).
If I can get the Savage 2000 working, I'll then buy a Savage IX to see if I
can get that working with TV out *and* xVideo. (These cards are tempting
because they are cheap, BTW.) Or perhaps someone who has already done so
... I've seen mention of it, I believe ... can provide this info?
