Yup - I'm using a Netgear 11.g AP and PCI card to run my downstairs 
frontend.  Just a regular wood-framed house.  I'm getting 
occasional/intermittent pauses that I'm attributing to interference (the 
frontend is beside a reef tank with 1200+W of metal halide lights, not to 
mention my wife has gone nuts with Christmas lighting this year... <grin>)

Other than the infrequent pauses (which I'm still working on), it works 
fine.  Of course, I just read the previous reply about the fact you can 
bridge two channels for 108M (figures, a few weeks after I bought my 54M 
solution.)
