I was actually using a composite cable, but had no luck getting a signal 
from Composite0 so I had tried Tuner0 and found a signal there. 
Previously, I had tried an S-Video cable but had only been able to get a 
black and white picture and so had tried other things. Now your comments 
made me try S-Video again and it's now giving me color and is working 
fine with the default input which is now 6. I 'm not sure what has 
changed since this failed before, but all is well now.

Thanks for the help and for the guide. The Pundit specific stuff was 
especially helpful.
