Might want to add? I have apache, mysql and php all installed from rpm,
and there's nothing you need to do to enable SSL or qmail support. I
use both (though qmail not by choice, I prefer postfix, but that's
another story). Red Hat usually includes support most of the good
stuff, so its just a matter of editing config files.

For security reasons, or something else? You can always just build your
own, which isn't a huge amount more difficult for many packages, since
you can often already find an rpm spec file to tweak to your liking.
