Well, that might be very slightly oversimplified, since the "make sure that 
ivtv detects it" step may be what he is asking details for. ;)

I didn't have any difficulty at all getting ivtv to recognize my second card, 
but it did require adding a line for in in /etc/modules.conf in my case.

After adding "alias char-major-81-1 ivtv" my card was detected and configured 
on /dev/video1 without any further problems. I didn't need any other changes.
