I read a while back on the ivtv list that they were hoping eventually to 
be able to have the Freestyle/Rev1 decoder usable as a virtual 
framebuffer type setup... i.e., have it decode to a virtual framebuffer 
whose contents could then be output via some other mechanism (Xv, 
DirectFB, etc).  Has this been deemed impossible?  Just curious; I 
don't have one of these cards, anyway.  I should really subscribe to 
the ivtv list, anyway, since I'm expecting my M179's any day now...
