I know this is kinda dorky but I'd like to do "mythOrbit"
Each day a cron job calculates sighting opportunities for a list of
satellite and puts that into a database.  The front end can alert you
with an OSD when a satellite is about to pass over.  .  It can even
integrate with mythWeather and not bother you if it's an overcast day :)
 
Like I said, dorky.  But it is cool watching a "star" scream across the
sky and know that we put it there.
