Note #1:
Visor Theme:
Error parsing: /usr/local/share/mythtv/themes/visor/ui.xml
at line: 601 column: 17
tag mismatch
Note #2:
If you get about newData__7QGArray being unresolved, you need to add
qt's library path to ld.so.conf and rerun ldconfig or update your
LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Note #3
Purple Theme is missing an icon for the DVD module
Note #4:
Using an ECS k7S5A PRO requires that you compile your kernel with
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SIS5513 and without CONFIG_BLK_DEV_GENERIC
Note #5:
If you get sqares instead of text for menu items with the blue theme,
you probably need to configure your X11 to serve TTF (defoma?) fonts.
You can do this with xfstt or by specifying it directly in XFree86's config.
Note #6:
The AIW Radeon won't work with MythTV at this time, but with some
effort, it could possibly me made to work: First one would need to
ensure that xawtv fires up BEFORE mythfrontend, so that the GATOS
drivers can initialize the tuner, and then something like xawtv-remote
could be used to control channels. It is quite possible (i've tested
it) to use /dev/video0 when the xawtv is offscreen. Once xawtv is
running (or any other tv app), the video memory has been allocated, so
all is good from that point on. I'm personally waiting on a PVR-250.
Note #7:
An Athlon 1600+, 512mb DDR, and an ATI TV Wonder VE and a 120gb drive in
UDMA100 works just fine for RTJPeg or MPEG4 live-tv and/or recordings.
Note #8:
Don't bother with the K7S5A PRO's onboard audio for input. Use a real
(old/cheap) soundcard like a SB Ensoniq or anything else that works. I
couldn't make the onboard audio work reliably for anything much. I
didn't try using it for output... I might do that sometime.
Note #9:
MythTV coredumps from time to time.. I will be rebuilding with -g and
will provide feedback.
Note #10:
The various modules configs and even MythTV's configs have wildly varied
default paths.
I suggest that a standardized set of paths be used, all descendant of
/var/spool/mythtv
Note #11:
Great Work! Love it. My wife will be so very happy.
Once I get everything settled on my system, i'll post my config.
Roy
