If it's a standard 9 or 25 pin connection, plug it into
a serail port on your Linux box and "od -h /dev/ttyS0".
Here's the output of my Palm Pilot trying to hot sync.

: bjm at moktoo ; od -h /dev/ttyS0
0000000 0002 ff0e 01af 00c0 020a 0e00 afff c001
0000020 0a00 0002 ff0e 01af 00c0 020a 0e00 afff
0000040 c001 0a00 0002 ff0e 01af 00c0 020a 0e00
0000060 afff c001 0a00 0002 ff0e 01af 00c0 020a
0000100 0e00 afff c001 0a00 0002 ff0e 01af 00c0
0000120 020a 0e00 afff c001 0a00 0002 ff0e 01af

If it uses an odd baud rate or different terminal settings,
you may need to use "cu" or "kermit" then pipe the output
through "od -h".
