I've just installed a new build of v0.28-pre-2234-g87f72fb with a 
one-line local hack and can now play processed SD recordings (mpeg2-ps) 
via upnp; the raw recordings don't play.  My HD recordings play both 
before and after cutting.

Thanks again to StuartM for sorting all this out.  I'm sorry to have 
disfigured his code so soon.

I believe the patch will affect only European SD DVB, and I suspect it 
will quickly become obsolete.
