I thought the Trac was able to answer this question anytime. That's how
Debian predicts their release dates - they watch the number of release
critical bugs and if it's going down steadily then it's possible to
estimate when it hits zero - and when there are 0 release critical bugs
they can release it :-)

I stepped into this discussion (note: I am not a MythTV developer)
because I don't like giving people void promises and false hope. So
whenever I promise something (and I sometime promise also release dates
of other software) and then can't fulfill it I feel bad about myself. If
somebody feels it similarly then they can also understand why spare time
developers don't like answering release date questions :)
