I was going to say the same thing.  If it allowed conversion to innodb
with no complaints, it sounds as thought the tables themselves are ok.

As far as mysql versions, under Gentoo I'm up to 5.0.44, and I've been
through most prior versions of mysql 5 and it's been flawless.
