Hehe, cool! Here in Germany I have to set something around 360 seconds
before and after each show, and even that fails every now and then. The
evening shows got 360 seconds before and additional 900 seconds at the
end (using DVB).

If you set your box to start 60 secs early, you could perhaps take the
preview pictures 120 Secs from the beginning of the show. If your tv
station is that exact with their program, you would end up with a
screenshot somewhere in the first two minutes of recording. Most likely
there won't be any commercials within the first minutes unless the show
is late and hasn't begun then.
