You can go ahead and make your changes and then just post a new patch.
I have been a little busy today so I hadn't had a chance to reply to your
earlier post.  When you send in a new patch, I should get it committed
to CVS sometime soon after I get it after I've had a chance to look over
it.  I'd like to get rid of the 2nd text area also.  Even non-scrolling
things can take advantage of the listarea and that will simplify the
code and theme design.
