Let's keep the main modules the same way they are, yet bring out the
configuration options to the GUI so people can see them.
Also there seems to be interest in getting rid of the rom checker. I
think this is only doable for user added game modules. MythMame
really likes to do a lot of work in categorizing games based on the
rominfo.
The previous function stubs look reasonable. The next question is who
among the responders is a coder and more importantly who thinks they
can get to this change?
I can take a look at the encoder card screens in 'setup' and see if I
can graft that onto the mythgame settings dialog. If so then it
shouldn't be all that hard.
Let's decide which emulators to make mainstream, and which will be user added:
mame might be the only mainstream emulator to me.
everything else could be user added. I personally use mame, snes and n64
