Based on the hypothesis that some perl regular expression bug with long
strings is causing the crash, I've rewritten parts of ZapListings.pm to use
index() and substr() instead of regexps.

For me, this new version does not crash.  However I don't think I could
reproduce the crash with the old version either, on my RedHat 9 systems.  So
please try it, everyone, and let me know what happens.

Because Sourceforge's anonymous CVS access lags by up to a day, you might
