[mythtv] Myth "Remote" communications

While developing the LED patch, I was surprised to discover that when the
backend receives a mal-formed message from the frontend, it logs the error,
then exits! It would seem much more robust if the backend simply responded
to the message with an error response, and continued on its merry way. What
was the design reasoning behind aborting the backend if a bad message is
received?
