I'm too lazy to go lookup old, email threads but I don't recall any
insurmountable objections to more frequent releases. As Gary
suggests, I think the main thing preventing it, is someone willing to
drive the release bus. It's not too onerous for developers to hold
off on new or dangerous changes or do them in a branch when a release
is immanent. The translators are the group I would be most concerned
with having to perform their tasks more frequently.
