FWIW, the most common failure on the HD PVR devices
is the power supply (they almost always fail in less than
a 5 year period (with very large variance) as they were
"cost optimized" [otherwise described as cheap]).  Try
obtaining/using a replacement brick (or if you have more
than one HD PVR, as your post suggests, try swapping
the bricks)
