I know that when the time comes I'll need to buy a HDHR 4K tuner to play
with ATSC 3.0 on any computer with Mythtv.
But at $200 and a lot of unknowns I figure I'll wait on that purchase.
However, with my old TV starting to fail, it was a good time to pick up a
new one during Black Friday sales and Sony's TVs have ATSC 3.0 tuners at no
extra charge compared to Samsung and LG.
Playing with the Sony on my ATSC 3.0 channels, I can see that by tweaking
my antenna a little, I can receive ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and Fox all in 1080p
Dolby Digital AC-4.
So if and when Mythtv is ready for ATSC 3.0, my purchase at that time of a
HDHR 4K will not be wasted.
