I went a different route, I no longer use mythfrontend. I switched to Plex
a couple of years ago and while it hasn't been "perfect" it works very well
and has a nice interface.
The only custom thing I had to do was create a script that would create
symbolic links to the recordings in the format the Plex likes. I run it
every night so I can't watch a recording the same day it was recorded but
that's fine for our usage.
