Yeah, building the dependencies has always been a rather fragile
process.  I know one of them has a syntax error in its cmake file that
needs to be fixed manually.  I should take a stab at fixing that.
ONce the dependencies are built, we tend to not touch them for fear of
them braking.  Out of sight, out of mind.

What's the liense on Functionality?  It's likely one you can fork and
maintain yourself under another name.
