22.04 OS was installed with the existing/same 20.04 uid

I want a few more ducks in a row before I pull this trigger.

I'm finally taking a serious look at this, and if I'm reading you
correctly, these are the two directories I should copy to the new OS:
daryl at trieli:~$ ls -al /home/daryl/.mythtv
total 36
drwxrwxr-x 8 daryl daryl 4096 Nov 7 2020 .
drwxr-xr-x 26 daryl daryl 4096 Sep 3 12:53 ..
drwxrwxr-x 2 daryl daryl 4096 Nov 7 2020 3rdParty
drwxrwxr-x 11 daryl daryl 4096 Dec 25 07:49 cache
drwxrwxr-x 2 daryl daryl 4096 Nov 7 2020 channels
-rw-rw-r-- 1 daryl daryl 629 Nov 7 2020 config.xml
drwx------ 2 daryl daryl 4096 Nov 7 2020 HardwareProfile
drwxrwxr-x 5 daryl daryl 4096 Dec 30 2021 themes
drwxrwxr-x 3 daryl daryl 4096 Dec 30 2021 tmp
daryl at trieli:~$ ls -al /home/mythtv/.mythtv
total 52
drwxr-xr-x 8 mythtv mythtv 4096 Oct 5 15:37 .
drwxr-xr-x 5 mythtv mythtv 4096 Apr 9 2022 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 mythtv mythtv 4096 Nov 7 2020 3rdParty
-rw-rw-r-- 1 mythtv mythtv 143 Apr 9 2022 antenna.xmltv
drwxr-xr-x 6 mythtv mythtv 4096 Mar 1 2021 cache
drwxr-xr-x 2 mythtv mythtv 12288 Oct 15 17:42 channels
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root   root      22 Nov  7  2020 config.xml ->
/etc/mythtv/config.xml
drwx------ 2 mythtv mythtv 4096 Nov 7 2020 HardwareProfile
-rw-rw-r-- 1 mythtv mythtv 143 Oct 5 15:37 intenna.xmltv
-rw-rw-r-- 1 mythtv mythtv 143 Apr 9 2022 SD.xmltv
drwxr-xr-x 2 mythtv mythtv 4096 Nov 7 2020 themes
drwxr-xr-x 4 mythtv mythtv 4096 Nov 7 2020 tmp

Will I also need to copy the "/etc/mythtv/mythconverg.xml" link as well? So
far I've installed the "mythtv" package, but not restored the database and
the two config.xm. files differ only in passwords.

this must come with the database restore, there is nothing there now
