[mythtv-users] mythweb quick search not working

got a problem with mythweb search - the quick search doesnt seem to work and just sits there 'waiting for $hostname' at the bottom of the browser.
using the advanced search works immediately.

BE is v29.1-58-g362f382
mythweb has just been updated to fixes/30 to see if there's anything fixed there, but no luck.

only thing thing sticking out in apache log is a time discrepency:

note the 2nd entry - 5mins behind the last entry when going to 'listings' page, and then starting an advanced search tab.

i was just about to post, until this happened:
.... OK, it seems quick search is less than quick. results finally appeared with this in the log:

note the same - 'search?type=q' has a time discrepancy.

mythweb, apache and mythBE all run on the same host, non-virtual. mysql runs in a docker container on this host. no other issues with the mythtv system - everything appears to be working well apart from quick search.

any ideas what to kick to get working again?
