I honestly link it's a coincidence.

Your logs were clearly showing low-level failures of one of your hard
disks; there really is no way that these can be "fixed" by repairing your
database.
Also IIRC you said it was a data drive that was failing and the database is
[presumably] on your system disk?

Intermittent hardware failures can be a real nightmare - one minute
everything is working, the next it's not, then it's all working again.
Randomly swapping hardware items (especially without carefully noting what
has been done) may give the impression of having fixed something, but the
next power cycle (or even mains power 'glitch') will see it all fail again.

Exchange items one-at-a-time and make detailed notes of what you've done;
then run extended tests before you swap anything else.
