sorry, this fell off my map and I forgot to revisit.
6200c and stb-command are still the most reliable method I've found
for changing channels and managing these boxes. neither seem to be in
development anymore for some reason. neither is perfect, and until we
added a second firewire card the combination of the two worked great.
But with that second card I've realized 6200c can only see one card.
if I was decent and programming I'd try and combine the two and get
them to work across however many firewire chipsets are on the machine.
