Possibly.  There is an old adage which works well here, and
it goes "if you break it (manually modify the database) you
own it", but obviously segfaults are bad if they can be
prevented (although I have no doubt that with enough
careful manipulation of various database values you
can find all sorts of interesting edge cases in the code).
