And that's specified as your "Guide data arguments" in mythtv-setup?  
(Specifically the value should be "--remove-new-channels" without the 
quotes--no "mythfilldatabase" in the setting?  Also, is your "Guide data 
program" set to exactly "mythfilldatabase" without the quotes?
