Hi Mark, thanks so much for having a go at this. You're not going to
believe this (or maybe you are!) but  your comment about stopping/starting
the backend was the key. When I run MythTV Backend Setup it stops the
backend and restarts it when exiting. So I assumed the backend had been
stopped and restarted. But your comment made me try rebooting the whole
machine, and when I did that everything worked fine. I don't understand
why, but anyhoo....


What version MythTV are you using?


For the record I'm running MythTV 0.28 on MythBuntu.
